Iowa commit Mason Woods helped West defeat Urbandale to seize their first win of the 2024 season.
IOWA CITY — On early signing day Wednesday, Iowa soccer added a shock member to its 2025 recruiting class.
Defensive again O’Lontae Dean signed with the Hawkeyes over presents from Louisville, LSU and Iowa State, amongst others.
Dean, listed at 6-foot-1 and 205 kilos, attends Armwood Excessive College in Florida. He’s the 1,175-ranked prospect within the 2025 class, in response to the 247Sports Composite.
Dean reported a suggestion from Iowa in September and visited in October.
Hawkeyes defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Phil Parker stated in an announcement on Wednesday: “A real soccer participant, O’Lontae has been a staple in Armwood Excessive College’s success, starring in a number of positions on each side of the ball throughout his multi-year varsity profession. He has a novel mix of vary, pace, and violence to go together with a fantastic body that may make him a dynamic participant for the College of lowa Soccer Secondary.”
Iowa already had a pair of scholarship pledges for the secondary within the 2025 highschool recruiting class, Drew MacPherson and CJ Bell. Plus, most well-liked walk-on Rayce Heitman. Dean now joins that group.
