West Virginia’s Javon Small (participant) and UCF’s Keyshawn Corridor (newcomer) earned Large 12 males’s basketball weekly awards after huge scoring nights by way of video games ending Jan. 19.

Small scored 27 factors within the Mountaineers’ 64-57 win over No. 2 Iowa State, with 12 of these factors coming within the last two minutes of the sport. The South Bend, Indiana native added seven rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals as West Virginia picked up its third top-10 win of the season, tied for the nation’s most. The senior guard added a 13-point outing with eight assists in opposition to No. 10 Houston. For the week, Small averaged 20.0 factors, 4.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists as he was named the Convention’s high participant for the second time in three weeks and third time this season.

Corridor had the primary 40-point sport in a Large 12 sport since 2021, including seven rebounds and 6 assists to his complete in a 95-89 win at Arizona State. The junior George Mason switch began the sport 6-of-6 from the ground and 4-of-5 from past the 3-point line as he completed by taking pictures 72.2 p.c from the sphere and 66.7 p.c on 3-pointers. His 40 factors had been the third-most by a UCF participant in a Division I sport and essentially the most by any Large 12 participant in a Convention sport since Oklahoma State’s Cade Cunningham on Feb. 27, 2021. The guard from Cleveland, Ohio had 11 rebounds in opposition to No. 10 Houston and scored a go-ahead layup with 9.8 seconds to play to provide UCF a late 68-67 lead in a sport the Knights misplaced by one level. It’s his first Large 12 weekly award.
