MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia College ladies’s tennis group misplaced to Xavier, 6-1, on Saturday at MSU Tennis Middle in East Lansing, Michigan.
West Virginia (2-1) struggled from the beginning because it was unable to earn the doubles level. The pairing of senior Mille Haagensen and freshman Lyla Byers received the No. 1 seed match, 6-1, however the Mountaineers misplaced the opposite two matches.
In singles play, the Mountaineers solely received one match. Senior Michaela Kucharova defeated Xavier’s Madeleine Rexroat within the No. 3 spot, 6-2, 6-4.
West Virginia will face Michigan State on Sunday at 10 a.m. on the MSU Tennis Middle in East Lansing, Mich.
