MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia College ladies’s tennis staff started the 2025 season by sweeping Duquesne and Morgan State at Summit Tennis Academy in Morgantown on Saturday.

West Virginia (2-0) battled with Duquesne, pulling out a slender, 4-3, victory. Within the win, Morgantown native, freshman Lyla Byers, earned her first profession win within the No. 6 singles match to safe the win for WVU.

 

Senior Mille Haagensen picked up proper the place she left off within the fall, profitable the No. 3 doubles match with Byers and defeating Duquesne’s Jasa Roka within the No. 1 singles match, 6-4, 6-2.

 

Redshirt junior Maja Dodik posted a powerful efficiency, defeating Alexandra O’Brien, 6-3, 7-6 (4).

 

The Mountaineers adopted up the win over Duquesne with a dominant efficiency towards Morgan State as they didn’t lose a match to win, 7-0.
